Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: What courses do I take…4000 level or 5000 level?

A: Undergraduates will take 4000 level professional education courses.

Q: Do my licensure courses count towards an MA?

A: No, your licensure courses count towards your BA. Courses can only count towards one degree. However, we do allow undergraduates to take up to 9 MA/Endorsement credit hours in the School of Education and Human Development so you can begin your advanced degree at undergraduate tuition rates.

Q: I’m an undergraduate taking IPTE 4910, what are the expectations?

A: For undergraduates typically in their sophomore year, IPTE 4910 is considered an exploratory internship that allows you to experience the world of education first hand in one of our partner schools to determine if an education career is right for you.  This internship allows for flexibility in days, times, etc, so that you can also meet the requirements of your liberal arts courses. The undergraduate handbook outlines suggested activities for this internship however, your site coordinator and IPTE 4910 professor will provide more details as you begin the internship and participate in the on-campus site seminar.

Q: I’m an undergrad taking IPTE 4910, do I participate in site seminars in my partner school?

A: No, undergrads will participate in site seminars on-campus through a separate seminar designed for the undergraduate student.
