University of Colorado at Denver and Health Science Center

Alumni

The Bard Center Entrepreneurship Council provides opportunities for alumni to stay connected with the Bard Center long after they complete their courses. Founded in 1998, the Council's mission is to support, encourage, and assist Bard Center students—past and present—as they grow their entrepreneurial spirit.

The Entrepreneurship Council hosts networking and other events throughout the year to provide opportunities for alumni and students to exchange ideas, experiences, and contacts with other members, University of Colorado Denver and Bard Center staff, Advisory Council members, and members of the Denver business community. In addition, the Entrepreneurship Council provides venues for local and nationally recognized speakers who address issues related to entrepreneurship. Furthermore, the Council coordinates the CEO Exchange, whose members include Bard Center alumni, CEOs, and other business leaders who meet every other month to discuss topics pertaining to business, strategy, and professional development.

Upon graduation, she began an exciting career at New York Stock Exchange Securities giant Spear Leeds and Kellogg, working in Denver for the firm's Over-Counter-Trading subsidiary Troster Singer. During her 15-year career with the firm, she was promoted from Securities Trading Assistant to Trader to Assistant Vice President, specializing in Institutional Sales Trading.

Sharon and her husband, Dan, both entered the University of Colorado Denver's MBA program in the spring of 1994, and they both took their final five MBA courses at the Bard Center for Entrepreneurship. After graduating from the Bard Center, Sharon joined the Entrepreneurship Council and is now serving a third year as Alumni President. Sharon's future plans are to apply the knowledge she has gained from the MBA program and to draw from her Bard Center experience in order to start her own business in the fitness industry.
