Ira Selkowitz

Ira Selkowitz is a Senior Instructor at the University of Colorado Denver's Business School. He has served in this capacity since 2006, after having taught as an Adjunct Instructor at the University for 20 years.

Mr. Selkowitz is licensed as an attorney in Colorado and California. From 1983-2003 he had his own law practice, specializing in business law and entertainment law, including business planning, real estate, and intellectual property issues. From 2003-2005, Mr. Selkowitz worked as the Director of Preservation Services for Historic Denver, Inc., a nonprofit organization founded to advocate historic preservation issues in the Denver metro area.

In addition to his private law practice, from 1994-1997 he worked as a booking agent and in-house counsel for the artist representation firm Scott O'Malley & Associates in Colorado Springs. From 1999-2001, he served as the Executive Director of Colorado Lawyers for the Arts, a nonprofit organization that provides educational programs and pro bono (volunteer) legal and mediation services to artists and arts organizations in Colorado.

Mr. Selkowitz's research articles have appeared in Entertainment Law & Finance and the Administrative Law Review. He received his JD from the University of Denver, his MA in Historic Preservation from Goucher College, Baltimore, Maryland, and his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois.
