Bioscience Internship Program

The Bard Center for Entrepreneurship Bioscience Internship Program is intended to provide entrepreneurship students with outstanding real world business experience in emerging Colorado bioscience companies. Business graduate students will use their skills in the areas of marketing, accounting, management, information systems and finance and apply them to current business needs of the Bioscience companies. The bioscience company participants will have the opportunity to utilize motivated, experienced and talented students in their companies for a wide range of projects.

Student Objectives:

Real-world business experience in the bioscience arena; opportunity to apply graduate level academic experience into hands-on business experience. Students selected to participate with a company will receive 3-hour general elective credits (pass/fail) toward your degree along with a bioscience internship scholarship to cover the tuition fee.

Company Objectives:

Opportunity to have graduate level business students work on key projects within their company; utilize students who could be potential future employees of the company; help create growing talent pool of bioscience executives.

Internship Requirements:

Students:

Current Bard Center student or alumni/graduate level Business School students; a minimum of 150 hours dedicated to the internship; you will work with internship supervisor; obtain academic assignment from the faculty advisor; attend periodic meetings at the Bard Center; complete an end of experience report; and receive a pass/fail grade on performance.

Company:

Provide job description; identify intern supervisor to oversee intern; complete progress reports; and document student hours.

Internship Process:

The Bard Center will serve as the internship coordinator by creating a group of students for the interested companies, collecting student documents for review and to set-up interviews with each company. The Bard Center will also collect job descriptions and contact information for the bioscience companies. By the end of November the participating students and companies will be identified and interviews and selections will be made before the Spring 2008 semester commences.
