About Bard Center
Students
The Bard Center for Entrepreneurship is an accredited graduate-level academic program for individuals who seek entrepreneurial guidance and hands-on instruction regarding their existing or future business ventures. The Bard Center offers graduate-level courses for students from various academic disciplines, including those enrolled in the MBA, Health and Behavioral Sciences, Engineering, Architecture, and other graduate degree programs at the University of Colorado Denver. Approximately 40% of the Business School's MBA students enroll in at least one Bard Center course.
Bard Center students generally are older, hold full-time jobs, and have roughly ten years of business experience. Due to family needs and ongoing work responsibilities, students often require the flexibility to take the evening and online classes the Bard Center offers. Many students are former or current members of the business community who want to start their own businesses, while others want to learn more about corporate "intrepreneurship," which involves the application of the entrepreneurial thought process to their current jobs in large companies or government agencies.
"As a student at the Graduate School of Public affairs I was initially drawn to the Bard Center because it has the energy and activity to inspire an entrepreneur like myself into truly starting up my new idea that mixes environmental policy and business. I have also been greatly inspired by the Bard Center networking events, and have made lasting business connections through them."—Annie St. John, Graduate School of Public Affairs Student
