The UCD
College of Arts & Media (MEIS faculty Rich
Sanders and Roy Pritts) and AES
International sponsored a conference
this past July, "Audio Forensics in the Digital Age". The
conference, the first of its kind anywhere in the world, offered some
70 attendees a forum to address the many issues of digital technologies
and its effect on the field of Audio Forensics. MSRA graduate students
submitted 3 papers which involved 9 students and their original research
– 15 papers from 10 countries were also submitted for consideration.
Panel discussion topics included "The Future of Audio Enhancements" and "Voice
Identification Technologies in the 21st Century". A day-long
tutorial session in the CU-Denver 8th Floor teaching studio attracted 60
participants. The inagural conference was so successful, AES International
has plans to hold the conference biannually.
