Dear CAM Faculty, Staff and Students,

Welcome back to the Spring Semester 2006!  To those of you who may be new to CAM, I want to wish you a very special welcome.  Know that everyone in CAM will be available to help you as you make CAM your new academic home!

As I’m sure all of you are aware, we are in the midst of our search for a permanent Dean for the college, and we will soon be ready to invite the potential candidates to campus.  This process should begin in February, and as soon as the final selections of the candidates are made, we will make certain that you are provided with the Vita information on the candidates who have been selected.  This decision is a vital one for us and our future, so I’m asking that everyone in the college—faculty, staff and students—engage fully in this process.  Everyone’s input and feedback is vitally important to us.  Each candidate will have an open session with our faculty, staff and students, so there will not be separate sessions for each group.  Hopefully, this will insure that we have a good attendance and provide a variety of questions for the candidates, and give everyone the opportunity to hear the same message.  You will be provided with an evaluation form, and we are requesting that you take the time to provide us with your response to each of the candidates.

I will be sending you an email with the details of the schedule once we have moved into the final phase.  Please commit yourself to being a part of this important process.

I wish you the very best for this semester.  My door remains open to help you in any way I possibly can.

Sincerely,

Kathy Maes
Interim Dean
College of Arts & Media
