Two concurrent solo exhibitions of Latin-American Art curated by Lisa Tamiris Becker, Director, CU Art Museum, University of Colorado at Boulder
March 12 – April 14, 2009
The exhibitions will feature work by noted Cuban-American contemporary artist, Luis Cruz Azaceta, focusing on his recent conceptual explorations of "the museum" as a physical, social, and cultural space within a world of devastation and destruction ranging from Hurricane Katrina to the Iraq War. The exhibitions will also feature the complete print portfolio of Mexican Modernist, Gunther Gerzso, accompanied by the illuminating text of Mexico's distinguished writer, Octavio Paz. A joint program of the CU Art Museum, University of Colorado at Boulder, Emmanuel Gallery, and University of Colorado Denver.
