paul musso, Guitarist and Guitar program director

Paul Musso is Assistant Professor of Music and Director of the Guitar Program at the University of Colorado Denver. He has been with UC Denver for fifteen years teaching fretboard theory, commercial guitar styles, applied guitar studies, jazz theory, songwriting, improvisation and mentoring a host of guitar ensembles. Musso is a freelance guitarist and has performed throughout Colorado area with many diverse ensembles including the Colorado Symphony, the Boulder Festival Orchestra, the Aspen Music Festival, and the Westcliff Jazz Festival. He is the author of two Mel Bay books for jazz guitar - Fingerstyle Jazz Guitar/Teaching Your Guitar to Walk and Graded Fingerstyle Jazz Guitar Solos. Paul is a co-author of Mel Bay’s 2000 Jazz Guitar, where Paul shares the bill with greats Johnny Smith, John Abercrombie, Buckey Pizzarelli, George Van Eps, Andy Summers and many others. His most recent publication, Developing Jazz Guitar Solos, will be released in early 2009.
