KATHRYN MAES--A.D.V.S., Central School of Speech and Drama-London;
Ph.D. University of Pittsburgh. Kathy currently serves as Interim Dean
of the College of Arts and Media at the University of Colorado-Denver. She
specializes in the areas of Dialects, Voice and Speech, and Directing. Professionally,
Kathy has served as dialect coach for four productions for the Royal Shakespeare
Company and co-dialect coach with Joan Washington on the Royal National Theatre's
Olivier Award-winning production of Arthur Miller's AMERICAN CLOCK. Kathy
has coached such notable actors as Ralph Fiennes, Brenda Blethyn, Sir John
Wood, and Pierce Brosnan. She served as Head of Voice at the
Denver Center Theatre Company for four years prior to coming to the University
of Colorado-Denver in 1992. She has directed some 27 productions, including
Curious Productions' performance of BURN THIS, and has served as vocal/dialect
coached for various local production companies such as PHAMLy, Curious Productions'
production of ANGLES IN AMERICA and HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE, and Horsechart's
production of A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE.
