Learning Your Language of Theatre & Film – The Performance Emphasis (BFA)
Performance skills and production labs focus on the dimensions of character as the central narrative element in performance work. Acting courses explore the dynamics of the actor's process of constructing character in context of a spectrum of text styles, rehearsal strategies, the demands of recorded media both on location and in the studio, as well as the impact of stage production circumstances. In addition to regular participation in departmental productions, students have many opportunities thoughout their course of training to perform in films, projects, and productions on campus and in the community.
Internships are selected from a variety of production, training or applied performance settings to expand perspectives of performance and to enhance student approaches to performance skills. Senior Projects include a variety of performances on and off campus as well as the development of an electronic portfolio and audition presentation.
