How Advising Works at CLAS
CLAS advisors know from experience that the right college experience is one tailored to you. From program electives to degree requirements, our advisors understand the way curricula options were designed. Give them an understanding of your hopes and dreams, and let them partner with you to plan your best path.
Two advisorS for Every CLAS Major
The College of Liberal Arts and Science utilizes a dual advising system which means as a declared CLAS major, you will have two advisors to guide your through your education.
A Faculty advisor will work with you on academic major requirements within your respective academic departments.
Your CLAS Academic Advisor handles educational issues such as: clarification of university and college policies and procedures, core curriculum advising, transfer credits evaluation for Core Curriculum, academic warning & probation, etc.
Your degree progress and graduation plans are monitored and approved by both advisors.
Advising is a shared responsibility between you and your assigned advisors. Being prepared for your interactions with your advisors is expected.
