Face-to-Face interaction with assigned academic advisor.

STOP IN
ADVISING

Short face to face interaction with assigned academic advisor.

 

First-come, first-serve basis

 

15 minutes

Partial review of academic progress

 

Recommended for:

Students who have met previously with assigned academic advisor

 

Not recommended for:

• Seniors who have not previously met with assigned advisor.

• New transfer & freshmen – first visit

• Undergraduate teacher education students

Requests for overloads, signature for study abroad, etc.

 

Submits for retroactive withdrawal/drop petition

 

TELEPHONE ADVISING

An arranged telephone conversation with assigned advisor to discuss academic progress.

 

*Typically for out-of-state students. (Note: Denver metro area on-line students are expected to take time to meet with their assigned academic advisors in person on a regular basis).

 

Academic evaluation is completed by assigned advisor and mailed or fax to student prior to arranged time. Timeframe could take up to one week to arrange telephone appointment.

Students are responsible for calling us at arranged time.

On-line student who will complete their entire degree on line.

 

*Telephone appointment is at the discretion of the assigned advisor for students whose personal/work responsibilities prevent student from meeting advisor in CLAS Advising Office.

TELEPHONE CALL

Short general question or inquiry to assigned academic advisor by telephone.

Student will have previously met with assigned advisor.

 

Advisors return calls within 72 hours or by the end of the week.

 

If questions involves reviewing student’s academic record fully, student will be required to schedule an appointment with assigned advisor

 

Question- Can I take a Metro Pooled course to satisfy my core requirements?

EMAIL ADVISING

Short general question or inquiry to assigned advisor via email address.

Student will have previously met with assigned advisor.

 

Advisors return calls within 72 hours or by the end of the week.

 

If a question involves reviewing student’s academic record fully, student will be required to schedule an appointment with assigned advisor.

Student has previously met with assigned advisor and is requesting feedback about a schedule change.

 

Question- Who is my faculty advisor in my major?

 

The extent of the Email interactions are at the discretion of the assigned advisor.
