CLAS General Graduation Requirements
1. a minimum of 120 semester credit hours passed
2. a minimum 2.0 CU cumulative grade-point average
3. a minimum 45 semester hours of upper-division course work (3000 and above)
4. residency: a minimum of 30 hours of UCD CLAS credit, and 21 out of the last 30 hours in UCD CLAS course work.
5. fulfillment of all college and major requirements
Advising System
CLAS uses a dual advising structure. College core advising, transfer credit, and graduation verification are conducted in the CLAS Advising Office. Major/minor advising is conducted by faculty members from the specific major/minor dept. A list of major/minor faculty advisors is available in the CLAS Advising Office.

- Students must also attain a minimum grade-point average of 2.0 in the major
- pass a minimum of 30 semester hours in the major with grades of "C" (2.0) or better
- pass a minimum of 16 upper division hours in the major with grades of "C" (2.0) or better
- meet all requirements as specified by the major department.
Minors Requirements
Minors are optional. Requirements for the minor vary between departments and programs. Hours in the minor department must total between 12 and 21 with a minimum of 3 upper division hours. Click here to see a list of CLAS minors (with links to minor requirements).
