Eligibility for Enrollment

STUDENT ID AND P.I.N. Required

Your student I.D. and P.I.N. (personal identification number) are random letters and numbers assigned to you from the admissions office when you applied to UCD.  You will need both of them to log in to S.M.A.R.T

Your student I.D. is a nine digit number, and your P.I.N. is a four-character password (letters and/or numbers).  If you need help remembering your student I.D. or P.I.N., log on to S.M.A.R.T and follow the help links on the left side.

assigned Registration dates

Watch the academic calendar for a link to assigned registration dates. Registration for the next semester typically begins about a month before the end of the current term.

STOPS AND HOLDS

Course restrictions may prevent you from registering for classes or receiving grades, transcripts, or diplomas. They may originate from financial obligations, academic concerns, disciplinary matters, or legal requirements. A stop may be put on your record at any time during the term.

Financial stops must be cleared through the Bursar's Office. Academic or advising stops must be cleared through your school or college. Check with the Registrar's Office (303)-556-2389 for the correct procedure for clearing any other stops.

Selective Service stop: Under Colorado Law any male person (US citizen) between the ages of 18 and 25 may not enroll at any state-supported institution of higher education without filing with the institution a statement of Selective Service registration compliance. Failure to submit such a statement will result in a Selective Service Stop being placed on the student's record which will prevent the student from registering.  To register for Selective Service with the government, go to:  http://www.sss.gov/.

Advising stop: All new students, first-year and transfer, will have an advising stop. You will have to meet with your Academic Advisor in order to register. First-year students should plan to attend Advising 1001 and/or Orientation.
