Leak of student data at CU-Boulder

The Registrar’s Office has had several inquiries from students who heard on the news about a ‘CU student data security leak’. This was not UCDHSC student data, but was student data on a Boulder server that resided in the College of Arts and Sciences. However, some of our students may have also been students at Boulder in the College of Arts and Sciences. Please let students know we do not believe that the hacker who launched the worm was seeking personal data, but rather was attempting to take control of the machine to allow it to infiltrate other computers both on-and-off the CU-Boulder campus. Refer students with concerns to this website for further information. If students have any questions about the security measures we have put in place at UCDHSC, please have them contact IT Services at: 303.315.4357.

Reminder: Change IP grades for thesis and project students

Please remind all faculty who are supervising graduate students who have completed a thesis or project to submit a Change of Record form to change all IP grades to a full letter grade. If more than one semester of credit is involved, attach a Thesis-Project Grade Change sheet to the Change of Record form, and list all semesters to which the grade change applies. Contact Jill Hutchison with questions. Also remember to submit the same form to assign grades for completed IW/IFs; any submitted for Spring 2006 or earlier have now reverted to W or F grades.

Department Chair Survey Report

Relevant discussion items
A California State University Department Chair Survey Report has been published. It contains some interesting insight and statistics on being a chair that might give us some important discussion items in future chairs meetings. Thanks to Donna Langston for suggesting this.
