Chancellor's Employee Development Program

UCDHSC Human Resources is pleased to announce the Chancellor’s Employee Development Program (EDP). The goal of the EDP is to increase job skills and opportunities for advancement by funding awards for professional development activities.

This program will be managed through Human Resources and is intended to supplement department/school resources. Mandatory training and/or certification programs should be covered by the department/school. The University tuition waiver program should be used for work-related courses. The award committee will consist of one classified and one exempt professional employee each from DDC, HSC and the consolidated administration for a total of six members, plus one representative from Human Resources.

University fiscal policies on business and education expenses apply.
Eligibility: Full or part-time classified and exempt professional employees.

Awards: Awards are limited to one award per employee per fiscal year. The award amount is limited to no more than $500 per award.
Type of Awards: Job-related and professionally enriching workshops, courses, seminars and conferences are permissible. Awards may cover travel (in- or out-of-state), registration fees, lodging, meals and materials.

Timing: Application must be received and approved before the employee professional development program occurs. Applications must be received by the end of each month. The committee will meet the second Tuesday of the following month to review applications received by the deadline. The form can be found here.

Payments: Payments for activity should be made by the department/school or employee. If the award is granted, expenses will be reimbursed through appropriate university process to the employee or the department/school.

Contact the Human Resources Office with questions at 303.315.2700.

REMINDER: Drop Transaction Charges

A drop transaction charge ($100 per class/section) applies to students who drop courses the second week of class through census date (August 28-September 5).  Exceptions are made for faculty or administratively initiated course changes, processed as administrative drops through the student’s Dean's Office.  The procedure is attached for Section or Course Level Changes.  Please read this carefully; it will impact drop charges on students’ accounts.  For late starting classes, please note the highlighted sections of the policy related to drop charges after the first week, including the highlighted section on late starting classes.
