These templates are available for CLAS faculty and staff use only. They were created to provide convenience for those who wish to post online information for classes, events, group projects, etc.

CLAS department sites would be better served with a custom template designed with more flexibility to fit their broader needs. The CLAS webmaster is available for design and development of departmental sites.

CLAS Templates for Faculty Web Sites

  1. Web space setup through UCD Information Technology Services. Visit "How to acquire Web space on the Carbon server"
  2. Access to, and at least a willingness to learn, an HTML editor. The CLAS webmaster recommends Macromedia Contribute. If you need help with Contribute or Dreamweaver, call Teri Hoyer at 303-556-6531.

Process Overview

  1. Download template files to your computer;
  2. Copy/save a template file as index.html;
  3. Connect to the Web server and upload the index file to your Web space;
  4. Customize your template's repeating content (i.e. banner, menu, footer);
  5. Create pages from your template;
  6. Upload pages.
