Undergraduate Minors
Many students who major in English or writing opt to add a minor, either in another department or in a related English discipline. For instance, if you are majoring in writing and interested in a career in public relations, you might consider a minor offered by the Communication department. Writing majors who may want to go on to graduate school in English literature might choose to minor in literature. A minor in creative writing is an excellent way to enhance a English major with a literature focus.
The Department of English offers four separate minors. No courses taken for a minor may be counted toward an English major.
