Master's Degree (M.A.) Program

The UC Denver history faculty offers a master’s degree program offering eight different optional specialties or majors:

  1. The United States
  2. Modern Europe
  3. Modern Britian
  4. Latin America
  5. Gender
  6. Science, Technology and Medicine
  7. Public History
  8. Intellectual

Degree plans include the thesis as an option, and offer teachers or aspiring teachers the right mix of course work. All degree plans require a comprehensive examination as a capstone experience.

The master’s degree in history is traditionally viewed as training for careers in education, government service, museum and archive management, and historic preservation, as well as for further degree work in history, law, and business management. The degree program also is attractive to individuals who want to further their general education.
