Historic Preservation Certificate (graduate level)
This 18-credit-hour graduate program combines selected courses from the College of Architecture & Planning (CAP) and the History Department. Liberal Arts students should confer with the Director of Public History & Preservation in the History Department. Architecture and Planning Students should confer with the Director of Historic Preservation in that college. Students should consult with their advisor to work out an agenda suiting their needs and the programs requirements.
The 18 hours must include the two required preservation courses, a CAP studio or thesis project or a History Department thesis, research project or independent study, and six hours of additional options. At least 12 hours must be taken in residence at UC Denver. Students must maintain a B (3.0) average in certificate classes. History students taking the certificate must take 12 hours in history courses.

3) Studio or Thesis: Each student must complete six hours from the following:

- Advanced Design Studio (ARCH 6150-4, 6151-2)
- Architecture Thesis (ARCH 6950-6)
- Planning Studio I, II (URP 6630-6, 6631-6)
- Urban Planning Thesis (URP 6950-3; URP 6950-3)

All students are encouraged to experiment with at least one internship (ARCH 6931-3, HIST 5939-3, URP 6930-3)
