Research Interests: Extragalactic astrophysics
Other Interests: Hiking, biking, tennis, photography, and surfing the net.
Background: My interest in astronomy goes back to 3rd grade in which I was asked to write a report on Saturn. Shortly thereafter I owned a small telescope and began darkroom work in astrophotography. In college, I began as an astronomy major, and then realized that the related field of astrophysics is what really engaged my interest. I eventually obtained my Ph.D. in Physics with a specialty in astrophysics. In particular, my research passion is quasars (and other extragalactic neclei) and quasar jets. Along the way I was continually inspired and assisted by my mentor, the very esteemed and world renowed Philip Morrison of MIT.
