Introduction
jet

Astrophysics is a science that deals with the physics of the universe, involving astronomical objects such as stars, and galaxies, how they interact with the interstellar or intergalactic medium. The study of cosmology is astrophysics at the largest scales. Our research group focuses on Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) in particular. In such active galaxies, a large amount of energy is produced in the core--more energy than can be accounted for by the emission of stars alone. By imaging the radiation at various wavelengths, we hope to obtain a better understanding of the structure and evolution of AGNs.

Who we are

We are a group of students from the University of Colorado Denver, working under the supervision of Dr. Alberto Sadun. We usually meet about once a week, but of course this varies--sometimes more often or less often, depending on our schedules.

Where we are

We most often meet in the North Classroom Building of the Auraria Campus on the 3rd floor. There, we have access to a computer lab.
