The Chronicles were designed to inform the public about the Physics Department at UCD, our purpose and goals and the future plans that are being designed by those in the department.
Physics is the underlying foundation of all the sciences and of technology, so it is important to bring news of progress in our field to as wide an audience as possible. Physics majors, students in other disciplines, and the general public will find resources in our department to develop a fundamental understanding of the many achievements and uses of physics. We train students for work in industry and government research labs, for public service and careers in health care, and for advanced study in graduate school. We also do fundamental and applied research in many fields, with involvement of students at all levels of preparation. The Physics Department invites you - whatever your background - to participate in our mission and share in our successes.
