Emily Gibson, Professor
Background
Dr. Gibson received her Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Colorado in 2004. Her research was in the field of nonlinear optics. She then subsequently embarked on a new research direction in biochemistry and biophysics as NIST/NRC postdoc at JILA, University of Colorado Boulder.
Research Interests
Dr. Gibson is currently pursuing research in several directions including: (i) integration of nonlinear spectroscopy with microfluidic devices for biological research and biomedical applications (ii) methodologies for cellular control and analysis in microfluidic devices and (iii) advanced microscopy techniques.
Other Interests
Her other interests include hiking, snowboarding, mountain biking, and coffee.
