Martin M. Maltempo, Professor
Background
Dr. Maltempo received his Bachelor Degree in Physics from Queens College of the City University of New York; M.A., M.Phil., and Ph.D. degrees in Physics were obtained from Columbia University. After completing a post-doctoral fellowship at the Johnson Foundation, University of Pennsylvania, he joined the faculty at UC Denver in 1976. He enjoys teaching courses for Physics majors and service courses for non-majors.
Research Interests
His interests include:
- magnetic resonance;
- magnetic resonance imaging;
- interacting spin systems;
- iterative maps; and
- development of "Physics for Poets" courses for liberal arts majors.
Other Details
Professor Maltempo is assisting in the development of curriculum and internships for the new Educational Studies Minor, designed for CLAS majors who intend to later teach in K-12, and he was a co-author of the $8.9 million instructional technology grant recently funded by CCHE.
