Administration - Overview
The Shared Analytical Services Laboratory is a part of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences on the Denver campus of the UCDHSC. The College provides the Laboratory's budget with the Dean determining the role of the Laboratory in meeting the Colleges educational and research goals. Maintenance of the equipment, and use of the SASL is directed by the Laboratory Manager, with the operation of the laboratory guided by the Oversight Committee.
The Oversight Committee is responsible for overseeing Laboratory operations and policies. Since no faculty are rostered through the Shared Analytical Services Laboratory, the members of the Oversight Committee are faculty rostered in the various science departments of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. The members donate their time and efforts to serve on the committee.
The Laboratory Manager is tasked with the day-to-day operations of the Laboratory. The Laboratory Manager ensures laboratory resources are operational, people using the laboratory receive adequate instruction and training, and that laboratory operations are carried out safely. If desired by the customer, the Laboratory Manager is also responsible for performing the analysis or creating the tools for the researcher to perform the analysis.
