About the Center for Global Health

Mission

The Center for Global Health (CGH) at the University of Colorado (CU) serves to improve health and healthcare in communities around the world, through interdisciplinary collaboration within the University and with partners in research, education and health services.

Service

The CGH serves as a focal point for global health activities within the University and broader community. Lectures, seminars and conferences help to increase the visibility and awareness of global health issues.  The Center provides expert consultation services to address health issues in the developing world.

Education

CGH focuses on projects which support the education of faculty, students and the community in the developing world.  The Center facilitates international health experiences for faculty and students.  Global health curriculum and activities are supported in several schools and programs within the University. 

Research

The CGH brings together faculty from various disciplines at the University of Colorado and other Colorado universities to develop and participate in interdisciplinary research on significant global health issues.

The Center for Global Health at the University of Colorado carries out its mission and objectives based on the following common values:

Objectives

  1. Serve as an umbrella organization for the global health activities of the UCDHSC, and create synergies and partnerships with other resources and groups sharing the same values.
  2. Increase the visibility and awareness of global health issues within the University and the broader community.
  3. Develop interdisciplinary research in significant issues in global health.
  4. Provide expert services and consultation in global health issues to requesting institutions, corporations and regional and national governments.
  5. Train the current and next generations of global health workers.
