Abstract

This essay is about the Mathare Youth Sports Association’s (MYSA) ShootBack photography project. It describes the objectives, challenges and some of the achievements of the project. Included are selected images following two themes: the first set of photos show MYSA members participating in the weekly environmental community clean up, and a second set of images depicts the everyday life of young people in the slums.
