Overview: The M. S. degree in Environmental Sciences is designed to provide students with training in engineering, natural/physical sciences, and socioeconomic analysis, as they pertain to the environment. The goals of the program are to enhance the interdisciplinary communication and analytical skills of the student, and provide opportunities for more intensive training within a particular subject area. Students will receive instruction in the physical and biological dynamics of various ecosystems, environmental engineering, and socioeconomic issues associated with environmental analysis.
Graduates of the Environmental Sciences program are involved in many different
areas such as reviewing environmental impact statements, monitoring groundwater
quality, and communicating with the public. Many students have found employment

The admissions/records office is located in room 200 of the CU Annex building.
The completed application and supporting materials should mailed to the admissions office at the address above. The graduate application fee is $50.00 ($60.00 for international applications). This fee is subject to change, and should be verified with the UC Denver Admissions Office.
Requirements for Admission: A baccalaureate degree in one of the natural/physical sciences or engineering (or equivalent background) is required for admission into the MSES program. In addition, the minimum undergraduate science and math requirements for admission are:
If only two prerequisite courses are lacking, an applicant may be admitted, but must successfully complete the prerequisites in his/her first year in the MSES program. If the prerequisite courses are not completed in the first year, the student will be disenrolled from the program. Some of the core or elective courses offered in the MSES program may require additional prerequisite courses. The prerequisites will not be counted towards the MSES degree. Applicants who have fulfilled all of the prerequisites have a better chance of acceptance into the program.
