Ethnic Studies Department
The Ethnic Studies program is designed to help you develop a breadth and depth of understanding of ethnicity and its significance in contemporary American society. As you analyze the ethnic experience from an interdisciplinary perspective, you will gain a background in the theories and concepts required to understand and interpret inter- and intra-group relations in the United States. The Ethnic Studies minor focuses on the history, culture, and contemporary situation of Asian Americans, African Americans, Latinos, and American Indians. Students go on to apply this knowledge in a variety of careers involving intercultural relations.
