Technology Requirements

To complete course requirements, you must have access to a Web-connected computer. You will need regular access to high-speed Internet connection, either at home or a convenient work location. Web instruction courses (IT 5600 and IT 5610) require you to purchase some web-authoring software.

University staff will regularly communicate with you via email, so they’ll need your preferred email address. A free email address is available to all students. If you activate this email account, the university will use it to communicate with you.

You can connect your laptop to the Internet through a wireless network on the fourth and fifth floors of the North Classroom Building. This includes the technology labs, which accommodate both Mac and Windows users. To provide adequate leadership in your job, we strongly recommend that you familiarize yourself with both platforms.

Most ILT courses use the eCollege course management system, which is similar to WebCT or Blackboard. Using eCollege, you can submit assignments, download documents, and participate in discussions. To access eCollege, you must submit a user profile at http://www.cuonline.edu/.
