Laptop Lease Program
The University of Colorado Denver Office of Student Life invites you to participate
in the Laptop Lease Program and enjoy state of the
art laptop technology and our wireless UC Denver campus. From home to the classroom, you are connected.
What
is it?
The UC Denver Office of Student Life, in conjunction
with Apple and Dell Computers will kick off the 3rd
year of the Laptop Lease Program in the Summer 2006
semester. The Laptop Lease Program is designed to
assist any UC Denver Downtown Campus in Denver student in obtaining
the latest in laptop technology and software at a
minimal cost. The program offers a per semester lease
available to all currently enrolled UC Denver Downtown Campus in Denver student, either an Apple 12-inch iBook or Dell Inspiron
5160, on campus tech support and full coverage insurance
on a per semester basis.
What
are the advantages?
Our Laptop Lease Program offers an alternative
to students who need a new computer, want to upgrade
their current computer, or students who do not have
the financial resources to purchase a new computer.
Since the University has negotiated with the computer
manufactures, we are able to lease to the students
state of the art laptops, software, insurance and
technical support for $150 a semester.
($100 for the summer term) To help
offset the per semester costs of the laptops, students
have an array of payment options: cash, check, credit
card or students may apply a portion of their financial
aid (grants, loans, etc) to pay for the program.
The laptops are designed to specifications proposed
by the University so that students have the tools
to help them succeed at UC Denver. Each laptop is equipped
with wireless internet and a general software package
- Microsoft Office. Finally, students who participate
in the program can obtain on-campus tech support (which
is not available to students who purchase a laptop
outside of this program) - and if we cannot repair
the laptop, the student receives a loaner laptop to
use until theirs is in working order.
