Funding Guidelines & Procedures
Organizations that are granted affiliated status are eligible for funding from Student Government Association (SGA) Finance Board.
In order to receive funding, organizations are required to submit a Funding Proposal Form. Organizations are eligible for up to a maximum of $2000 per academic year (fall and spring semesters). Organizations may only submit one funding request per event and up to three requests per semester. SGA may only allocate up to $1000 per request.
- Applications must be submitted at least 72 hours prior and two (2) weeks prior to the event. Finance Board meetings are on a bi-weekly basis. Click here for meeting calendar.
- The Treasurer of the organization must attend and present the funding request to the Finance Board. The Treasurer's name must correspond with the person named on the respective semester's Organization Recognition Form.
- Incomplete applications will not be considered.
- Finance Board will adhere to the funding guidelines outlined in the Funding Guidelines and Procedures.
- All funding allocated by Finance Board is available to the student organization through the Office of Student Life. All vendors are paid directly. Student organizations must submit detailed payment information including business name, address, and phone numbers of all vendors in a timely manner to assure payment. Student organizations are strongly encouraged to meet with the Office of Student Life & Activities after receiving funding from Finance Board to ensure the correct University procedures are adhered to.
- Upon conclusion of the event, the Event Summary Form must be submitted to the Office of Student Life within two (2) weeks following the event.
A Sales Tax has gone to effect beginning this semester. the Sales Tax rate for Denver is 7.72%. This includes the following three parts:
- 2.9% Colorado State Tax
- 1.2% Composed of RTD (Regional Transportation District) 1%, CD (Scientific and Cultural Facilities District) 0.1%, and FD (Football District) 0.1%
- 3.62% Denver City and County Tax Rate
To calculate the sales tax,
1. Take amount, ie $100, and divide by 1.0072 = $92.83 (taxable base)
2. Take total sales, $100, and subtract the taxable base, $92.83, = $7.17 (sales tax payable).
Please record the Total Sales in a revenue account and make JE to Dr. Revenue account for the amount of sales tax payable and Cr. Account Code 100400 sales tax payable.
