DESCRIPTION & PURPOSE

Copper Nickel Mission Statement Our mission is a simple one: to provide an opportunity for University of Colorado Denver students and affiliates to put literary ideas into action, regardless of the specific manifestation (poetry festivals, public readings, writing workshops, etc.) or medium, and to make literature accessible to the University of Colorado Denver community, as well as the greater Denver area community, by sponsoring literary projects that promote culture and learning and demonstrate that literature is a living art. All University of Colorado Denver English majors are automatically considered members of the group and are invited to participate in upcoming events. Last semester we took an active role in the Denver Poetry Festival, and this semester we will be sponsoring writers to appear on campus and read their work, holding peer writing workshops, and of course publishing a journal.
